My Favorite Discovery

Technology is advancing quickly and I want to talk about one thing I found this week that is set to change a lot about how we use our devices

*This newsletter is built to be read in Dark Mode on your device for ease of reading for the visually impaired.

📍 Q1: Do you have any advice with traversing an airport?
A: Bring a cane! It will make things so much easier. When you book a ticket online, there is a checkbox if you are ‘blind/visually impaired’. Be sure to check that box and then when you go to the front desk, someone will guide you through the entire thing. Don’t feel embarrassed, it is their job to help you. Also, bringing a cane will show others that you’re different and they’ll be more likely to help you.

App Of The Week

Gemini Live

When you open the Gemini app, click on the three bar icon in the bottom right, next to the microphone icon.

This will take you to a new screen, now click on the very bottom left camera icon.

This will make your camera ‘Live’. Now you can openly talk to the AI about what’s in front of you, it’ll read things to you, identify objects, read street signs, a lot!

It’s still limited on certain things with it’s privacy settings, for example, it will not remember faces of loved ones or anything like that.

Also, if you’re worried about privacy, then don’t point it at sensitive information documents.

This has worked so good for me and is a daily use tool for me. It’s so much better than having to take a picture and then using another tool or app to read it. It’s also told me how many stairs are in front of me, it’s just been an awesome tool.

The Personal Touch

I talked to my wife last week about the question I posed to all of you last week, how she balances being my partner, and not feeling like a caretaker, and why she’s sticking with me.

She gave the perfect response, she said, “I feel privileged to be the one that gets to help you through life.”

That’s all I needed to hear. We talked about some other aspects of it, but I knew that I wasn’t a detriment to her or holding her back.

There will still be days that I’m down on myself, and days where she’s frustrated with the load she has to carry, but I’m glad we’re on the same page now of how she feels about our relationship.

I encourage all of you to talk to your loved ones and ask how they feel about the situation. Be open and dive deep, it’ll benefit you both in the long run.

We got this!
