What People Are Asking

📍 Q1: When should I get a white cane?
✅ A: Sooner than later. After I got mine, a lot of the stress and embarrassment went away, surprisingly. It made me more open to people wanting to help and it made people aware of my situation. If you struggle with any aspect of getting around or doing things on your own, get one! They’re super cheap on Amazon
📍 Q2: What phone is best for the visually impaired?
✅ A: A large iPhone (Max/Pro versions) is what I use and it has some of the best features out there; Zoom features, Extra Large Bold print, contrast settings. We will actually be learning about some of these features in this week’s tip section below!

The Personal Touch
Last week I went to my 5-year-od daughter’s soccer game and I can’t see anything that’s going on. I have to rely on other parents and my wife commentating what’s going on to be a little informed on how the game is going and how my daughter is doing.
I hate it.
I grew up loving all sports and it was something I looked forward to as a parent, watching my kids play sports.
And now I can’t do it.
I will always be there to “watch” and will be their biggest cheerleader, no matter what. It will always be about her and her growth, I don’t ever want it to be about me. It’s her time to shine.
I just wish I was able to see her play a game she is loving right now.
I’m so grateful for what I do have and hope to hang on to what eyesight I do have.
